Cleveland Institute of Management Accountants and the Ohio society of certified Public accountants present a joint meeting on Monday June 5, 2023 at the Hofbrau House located at 1550 Chester Avenue Cleveland, Ohio. Doors open at 6 PM. Speaker is at 7 PM. Cash bar and dinner off the menu at your expense. Topic is an update from THE OSCPA'S. They have a team in Columbus lobbying to advance the accounting profession and promote a favorable business climate in Ohio. They will talk about issues in the General Assembly and the progress they made in the most recent session on issues like improving the CPA pipeline and promoting job growth in Ohio, they will also be updating us on Tax legislation. Our guest speakers will be Barb Benton and Greg Saul. A quick Bio is listed below:
Barbara Benton has led OSCPA’s lobbying efforts at the state and federal levels over 30 years, including managing The Ohio Society’s PAC and grassroots programs. Prior to joining OSCPA she was a legislative aide in the Ohio Senate. Barb is a past president of the Ohio Lobbying Association, and received that organization’s President’s Award for contributions to the lobbying profession.
Greg’s experience includes the Ohio Auditor of State’s office, the Ohio Supreme Court under former Justice Bob Cupp and his role as a Legislative Aide to former state Senate President Pro Tempore Jeff Jacobson. He holds an attorney license and the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential. As OSCPA’s Director of Tax Policy, he is responsible for lobbying state legislators and regulatory officials in the executive branch on tax and general business issues.
